Can Propellor customize a design to suit my project?

All of our pieces are designed to be customizable. We can typically tailor the scale, shape and colour of our designs to suit the needs of our clients.

Who manufactures your lights?

We do! All of our work is designed and fabricated in our busy Vancouver studio. Built in small editions or made to order, Propellor products are made with care by people you can talk to.

Do you ship your products to the United States?

We ship across North America and around the globe.

Is your studio open to the public?

Yes, weekdays 10-5 and weekends by appointment. Please give us a call or send us an email to arrange a time.

Are your lighting products UL/CSA listed?

All of our fixtures are inspected and accepted by CSA International - Special Inspections prior to shipment and bear a CSA Special Inspection label, they are not certified (or "listed") in the manner of mass produced fixtures but are inspected referencing the same UL and CSA standards for luminaries. This has not been an issue in the past for our US bound fixtures, but we do recommend consulting with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in your area to ensure the markings will be recognized.

You design exhibitions too?

Exhibition design affords us the opportunity to delve deeply into a subject, to research, interpret and communicate with the public concerning phenomena that are transforming our culture. Exhibition design also allows us to bring many of our skills to bear on a single project. Using graphic design, experience and spacial design, multi-media and writing, we collaborate with cultural institutions to create meaningful and evocative exhibitions.

Sustainability?

We make products that are designed to live long and useful lives. We choose materials and finishes that are non-toxic, recyclable, and responsibly harvested and manufactured. We have always been leery of greenwashing - we know how many obstacles stand in the way of making a completely sustainable product. We design and build our products to be as healthy and sustainable as possible and continually work at improving them. Our goal is to add beautiful and useful objects to the material culture while treading as lightly as possible on the earth.
