We are currently prototyping a number of new lights that, like our Mycologic Light, use LED’s as a light source. About once a month or so we make a trip up Main Street to Lee’s Electronics for parts and occassionally, advice. Lee’s staff are super friendly and knowledgable and always willing to help solve problems. This is the go-to shop for local artists and designers in need of electronic components.
The shop’s walls are lined with tens of thousands small parts, each bagged in plastic, tagged with a code like a can of soup in an old grocery store and hung on a hook with a hand-written card that tells it’s story. I like the tightly organized chaos of this store, the analogue inventory system and the endless possibilities on offer for making new things.
