Time for new business cards, so it was off for a visit with David Clifford at Black Stone Press. While there, he let us geek out on all the beautiful presses (one dating back to 1846!) we also got a peek at some of the drawers full of vintage letter blocks. So beautiful.
The former Burrard Iron Works at the foot of Vancouver’s Main Street is one of my favourite warehouse buildings in the Downtown East Side. The building’s owner has faithfully restored the original painted company sign on the west side of the building. To my eye it is one of the most beautiful pieces of large scale typography in our city.
